Tube Swaging Capabilities
Swaging is usually a cold forming process used to change the dimensions of tubing. A swaged piece is created by placing the tube inside a die that applies compressive force by hammering radially. A swaging machine works by using two or four split dies which separate and close up to 2,000 times a minute. This action is achieved by mounting the dies into the machine's spindle which is rotated by a motor. The spindle is mounted inside a cage containing rollers.
Also with Swaging, the tube diameter can be reduced or expanded, produce a taper or flange, or reduce the tubing end down completely to a solid point. The Swaging process can also impart internal shapes in hollow workpieces through the use of a mandrel (the shape must have a constant cross-section).
Our Swaging size capabilities range in wall thicknesses from 0.005" to 1", diameters from 1/8" to 6" and in lengths up to 15’. Please challenge us with what you would like us to make for you.
Swaging is useful for creating many tube forms used for motorcycle, ATV, agriculture, automotive, medical, furniture, industrial and aerospace applications.
